5463 - ADMISSION OF STUDENTSFROM NONCHARTERED OR HOME SCHOOLING
Students seeking admission into the District’s schools who have been enrolled in nonchartered schools or home-education programs may be required to take competency examinations. The purpose of these examinations is to determine the proper grade placement for these students.
In making a placement decision, the Superintendent shall consider:
| A. | the child’s most recent annual academic assessment report; | ||
| B. | requiring the child to take any or all of the nationally normed, standardized achievement tests that are regularly scheduled for District students of similar age; | ||
| C. | other evaluation information that may include interviews with the child and the parent; | ||
| D. | students in grades 9-12 are required to take final exams for credit only; and | ||
| E. | students in grades 6-8 are required to take final exams for grade level placement. |
